WHAT ARE NODEMONKES?

10,000 28×28-pixel monkes, fully on-chain as Bitcoin Ordinals inscriptions (#83,522 – #111,319, February 2023) — the first 10k profile-picture collection inscribed on Bitcoin. Every pixel lives on the Bitcoin blockchain forever.

IS MONKEDEX CUSTODIAL?

No. Keys never leave your wallet; the site moves PSBT strings between your browser and your wallet extension and verifies everything server-side. The platform co-signs settlements but can never move funds alone: every custody output carries a maker-side recovery path — a key-path spend or a timelock — documented per flow on the trust-model page.

WHAT ARE THE FEES?

There are no fees for trading on Monkedex. Maker 0% / taker 0%.

You pay Bitcoin network fees.

WHICH WALLETS WORK?

Xverse, Unisat, Leather, OKX Wallet — support the required PSBT signing from web pages (via sats-connect). The inscription must sit on a taproot (bc1p…) address. On regtest, two built-in development wallets are available.

CAN MY BUY BE FRONT-RUN (AKA "SNIPED")?

No. Fulfillments settle as replaceable (v3) transaction packages validated and broadcast by the API, and offer/bid flows commit both parties to the exact transaction up front — nothing in the mempool can be redirected. Per-flow guarantees are on /docs/dex.

HOW DO BIDS WORK WITHOUT ESCROW?

An item offer IS the purchase transaction, fully signed by you, with only the owner's inscription input left open — funds stay in your wallet, and the offer dies automatically if the inscription moves. English auctions add non-custodial commitment: bid funds sit in your own taproot deposit wallet with a 30-day timelock recovery, so a committed bid can't be double-spent away before it settles — and can always be recovered by you afterwards.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THIS WEBSITE DISAPPEARS?

Your monkes and coins are untouched (they were never here). Anything mid-flight is recoverable without us: every custody output has a maker-side key-path or timelock escape hatch you can spend unilaterally.

WHY IS THE FLOOR MISSING SOME LISTINGS?

Private listings are excluded from floor statistics by design — their prices are not open-market quotes.

HOW DO I CANCEL A LISTING OR OFFER?

Sign a short cancel message with your wallet (BIP-322) — no transaction and no fees. English auctions are the exception: they run to completion, and an unsold auction returns the inscription via its timelocked recovery automatically.
